| Hap Ki Do literally means "The Way of Coordination and Power".
Hap Ki Do is a situation-based self-defense style that utilizes joint locks, pressure points, throws as well as many kicks and strikes against single or multiple opponents who are armed or unarmed.
The Hap Ki Do student first learns unarmed self-defense and then later uses the short stick and cane.
|
Hap Ki Do allows the artist to flow smoothly in and around any opponent or situation, redirecting their own energy or power against them.
 | This starts out as passive resistance, but in turn then becomes a very aggressive method since the opponent's own energy is used and redirected against themselves.
When performed with proper technique and training, a smaller person can overcome any attacker or a variety of attackers of any size and strength with virtually very little effort.
|
 | Each of these styles, Tae Kwon Do and Hap Ki Do, are excellent in and of themselves. By training in both these styles together, a student develops a well-rounded format containing the power of Tae Kwon Do and the graceful, flowing control of Hap Ki Do.
